We all deserve a safe home, a place where our families and community can grow and prosper. But so many of us are forced to live in violent neighborhoods.
A father looks at his newborn child and hoping he can provide the best of everything to him. The baby grows up need the father by his side. Gun violence threatens our society. I used the gun parts to build homes for my sculpture painting. I constructed sanctuaries, completed with roofs and walls, around intimate portraits of families living in everyday moments of tenderness. I used guns that have destroyed so many homes and families, to build a home for art. This work uses the artifacts of tragedy to inspire us to create peaceful places for all of us to live. I use my personal grief to create hope.
