The Robby Poblete Foundation Art of PeaceToday, artist Tsungwei Moo, picked up gun materials for her Art of Peace project entitled "Home, Sweet Home" and received a check from RPF. Tsungwei recently lost a dear friend to gun violence during a robbery in his own home. Her concept proposal read: "I intend to use the gun parts to build homes for my paintings. I will construct sanctuaries, complete with roofs and walls, around intimate portraits of families living in everyday moments of tenderness. I will use guns that have destroyed so many homes and families, to build a home for art. These works will use the artifacts of tragedy to inspire us to create peaceful places for all of us to live. I will use my personal grief to create hope." Congratulations, Tsungwei. We look forward to seeing your transformation and using your art to raise awareness about gun violence. Seven more artists to go! For more on our Art of Peace project, or to learn how to sponsor an artist, go to https://robbypobletefoundation.org/art-of-peace .
